Grapevine leafroll-associated virus 3 (GLRaV-3) can have a significant financial impact on vineyards with a reduction in yields and possible total replacement of vines. Regular ELISA testing of grapevine cane and leaf and the removal of infected vines is the best prevention.
Linnaeus offers IANZ-accredited virus testing using "Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay" (ELISA) which is an efficient antibody-based technique that can diagnose a broad spectrum of viruses including Grapevine Leafroll-associated Viruses 1, 2, and 3 and Grapevine Virus A (GVA). These tests can be performed on both leaf and cane samples.
